Water Pipe Database Survey

For your participation in the survey, you will be entered into a drawing for one of five $100 Visa gift cards (see Rules below).

Background

As part of the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Lead and Copper Rule Revisions, all water utilities are now required to develop a database of the material of the pipe leading from the water main in the street to homes and businesses.

While we have very good records of the KWD-owned portion of the service line, we haven’t previously needed to track the material of the portion of the service pipe from the property line into your home or business. In order to gather this information we are asking you to fill out the survey below.

It is important to develop and maintain this database as it serves as the foundation for utilities to act if lead levels are discovered above the drinking water limit. With that said, the Kennebec Water District does not have any records of lead service lines in the distribution system and recent lead testing identified that lead levels were below all drinking water limits.

Kennebec Water District Service Line Inventory Sweepstakes Official Rules

1. Sponsor The sponsor of this sweepstakes is Kennebec Water District, located at 131 Drummond Ave, Waterville, Maine 04901.

2. Eligibility This sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the United States who are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. Employees of Kennebec Water District, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.

3. Sweepstakes Period The sweepstakes begins on August 1, 2024 at 12:01am and ends on September 30, 2024 at 11:59pm (Eastern Time) (the “Sweepstakes Period”). Entries received after the Sweepstakes Period will be disqualified.

4. How to Enter To enter, complete the Water Pipe Inventory Survey at www.kennebecwater.org/waterpipe. Limit 1 entries per active account. Multiple entries from the same person or account will be disqualified.

5. Prize The prize for this sweepstakes is one of five $100 visa gift cards. The approximate retail value of the prize is $100.

6. Winner Selection and Notification The winner will be selected in a random drawing conducted on or about October 1, 2024 from all eligible entries received. The drawing will be conducted by Kennebec Water District, whose decisions are final. The winner will be notified via Email or Phone within 15 days of the drawing. If the winner does not respond within 15 days or is otherwise disqualified, an alternate winner may be selected.

7. Claiming the Prize To claim the prize, the winner must respond to the notification email of phone call with their contact information including mailing address within 15 days. In person pick up at 131 Drummond Ave, Waterville during Kennebec Water District office hours is also acceptable.

8. Publicity By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to allow Kennebec Water District to use their name, likeness, and/or voice for promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.

9. General Conditions By participating, entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Kennebec Water District, which are final and binding. Kennebec Water District reserves the right to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process or otherwise violates these rules.

10. Release and Limitations of Liability By entering, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Kennebec Water District, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any liability, loss, or damage resulting from participation in the sweepstakes or the acceptance, use, or misuse of the prize.

11. Governing Law This sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

12. Winner’s List For the name of the winner, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Kennebec Water District, 131 Drummond Ave, Waterville, Maine 04901 within 30 days of the end of the Sweepstakes Period.
